Buddy Program
This is a reminder to all students who participate in the buddy program at AES and AMS. We have three more weeks to go with the buddy program for this year. Please remember to show up and check in during your scheduled lunch to meet with your buddy. Failure to check in with Liz at AES or with Molly’s sub, Andrea, at AMS could result in your ability to participate in the program next year. Thank you!
The McBride Lewa Internship is being offered to eight students in the Roaring Fork Valley. Spend two weeks at the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Africa learning about wildlife and the challenge and struggle to keep this ancient wilderness wild. The cost is approximately $2,000.00.  For more details including a flier with all pertinent information, please email Josh Berro in the counseling department (

Aikido Classes
Aikido is translated as the way of harmonizing with energy. It’s core principle is conflict resolution without injury to attacker. This is a difficult challenge both physically and emotionally. There are no competitions, matches, or trophies in Aikido. Instead Aikido is a ceaseless polishing of oneself. It is at once a great physical work out, an effective non-violent self-defense, and a spiritual path. Aikido embodies the Mind, Body, Spirit  ethos of Aspen. Aikido classes are offered through Colorado Mountain College at the Aspen and Glenwood Springs campuses. Classes in Aspen meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:45 to 8:15 PM.  Brad Manosevitz has led the current Aikido program in Aspen since 2002. For more information visit
